Wow long time no update huh?! It has been so long since i have posted anything! I have been going through a rough patch in my personal life and have been focusing all of my energy on myself. Yes it may seem selfish but i really need to focus on me and get myself going. I will say one thing though, I have never been happier!

I also have a minor product rave. I just started using DermaBlend cosmetics this week and I am SOLD!!! I couldnt seem to block my oily skin with this Florida heat no matter what i did. Got special creams from MAC, tried a new skin care routine, more water, more facials, yada yada. I just have oily skin and thats all there is to it. I also have a lot of hyperpigmentation from pregnancy and it was a chore everyday putting on foundation to cover everything. With DermaBlend i have no problems whatsoever. This stuff covers practically everything! They also use the leg and body cream to cover tattoos, and it actually covers them, in my opinion better than airbrush would! No i dont work for DermaBlend and dont associate myself with them at all, this is just my honest input. I highly highly recommend this product if your having trouble covering everything, if you want a lightweight full coverage. GET IT! I got mine at Ulta, of course you can find it online as well :) I will try my hardest to update more often, like i said though, i am going through a bit of a rough patch in life right now and am trying to keep my chin up. MAC Dark side Lipstick vs NYX Mauve

Yesterday I got a new shade of lipstick from MAC, now dont get me wrong, I loooove me some MAC lipstick but it is so expenseive! I mean, $15 a stick or i could spend $3 a stick from NYX. NYX has got to be my favorite brand of makeup, but i can honestly say MAC lipsticks are by far superior. I hardly ever have to touch up my lipstick with MAC, and with NYX it seems like every 30 minutes i have to reapply it. This was taken outside with flash, it honestly doesnt look this berry red in person, it has a very dark blood color, and im kinda bummed it didnt show the true color. I included a pic of the Dark Side lipstick from MAC, and a comparable color from NYX would be Mauve. Dark Side is a bit more berry toned, and Mauve has the chocolatey colors. Two great lipsticks, two comparable colors, but MAC wins :)

Review: MAC Skin refined zone treatment

Hey everyone, i am gonna be reviewing MAC's Skin refined zone treatment, basically its a cream to help with pore size and oil control. I was really not wanting to buy this product, but I have such a problem with pore size and oily skin on my t-zone. My oil just eats away at my foundation like no ones business. So in a way i was desperate when i bought this. Ive had it for 2 weeks now, and have been using it everyday and i can honestly say i am SO glad i bought this. It was i think around $20, and there are 0.5 fl oz...teeny tiny! But you really dont need a lot everyday. Your supposed to wash your face, apply moisturizer, then apply this product but for me i wash my face, then apply this product and follow up with moisturizer. I feel like i need this directly on my skin to help with my oil/pores. I did try it the correct way one day and it didnt do as good of a job as previously applied. I used to have to powder/fix my makeup within 2 hours of putting on my foundation, now i can go atleast 6-8 hours without touching my makeup. I really feel like this controls pore size/oil its not a bs product, it delivers, and delivers well! It is one of my favorite products i have bought this year, i highly recommend this to anyone with oily skin or an oily t-zone, great product!

Review: Olay Total Effects Wash

Hey everyone, i know it seems like i just did a review on Aveeno face wash, but like i said in that review it doesnt last long. So i decided to switch to Olay to see if it would atleast last longer than 2 weeks. The wash i am reviewing is the Olay total effects 7-in-1 Anti Aging Salicylic Acid Acne Cleanser, cream cleanser plus blemish control. It says that is is supposed to have 7 anti aging benefits in 1 daily cream cleanser to give you visibly younger and clearer looking skin. Now i have used this in the past (last fall) and i loved it. I used for for a few months until it was time to switch to a liquid/foam wash. I like the smell of this, its not too strong and it doesnt leave that itchy and tight feeling after you've washed your face. Now, mind you, you never ever want that tight feeling after you've wash your face, you still have product on your face and you will definately need a good toner to tone your face after washing. But for me, my skin is so weird I hardly ever exfoliate or use a toner, it seems to backfire and makes my skin worse.
This face wash leaves your skin feeling smooth and soft. All you need is a dime size amount, i would recommend washing your face twice or even three times if you wear a lot of makeup like i do, but if you dont you can get away with 1-2 washes. I use Mac Studio Fix, and Pro Long wear and sometimes Revlon Colorstay and they are definately hard to get off. After a week of using this product it has definately calmed down reddness i had, i even had a cut on my chin i got from a McDonalds straw (i hear millions of dollars for me!) haha, and my cut was gone within 2 days, no neosporin, no polysporin, nothing. It feels like it has a slight amount of granual material in it to help with exfoliation, but it such a small amount its hard to tell. It also feels like my skin is softer when i wake up, and typically around this time of year my skin freaks out and becomes super dry. The texture of my skin is different too, its just all around softer. I also have a problem with acne along my jawline, a lot of women in their mind 20's have hormonal acne on their chin/jaw area, i unfortunately happen to be one of them. I havent had an issue at all with flare ups while using this wash. It has 2% salicylic acid which is an active ingredient to help fight acne. It is used in higher percentages in salons and medi spas for acne peels, so this is definately not irritating. I really like this stuff, Olay products definately love my skin, and i love their prices. So im going to be getting this again once i run out :)

Review: Olay night cream and Aveeno face wash

Four reviews in one day, how bout that! Ok so im gonna start off with:

Aveeno Ultra-Calming moisturizing cream cleanser (whew, say that 5 times!)
I got this because my Biore face wash seemed to be irritating my skin with the weather changes. This seemed to be a great alternative, perfect for fall/winter air. You definately need to switch your face washes in each season. This is fragrance free and has feverfew in it which helps calm the skin. After using this for a week I can definately tell a difference in my skins texture, apperance, the redness has gone away. The only downside to this is if you wear a lot of makeup like I do, or thick makeup like I do, you need to wash your face atleast 3 times in one wash. So the prodcut tends to go a lot faster :\ When i was in school we stricly used Pevonia products which seemed to work for everyone. This product reminds me of the sensitive like from Pevonia but w/o the $30 price tag. I have been recommending this product to my friends who seem to have the same skin type as me, i want to see if it works on them as well. Im gonna keep buying this for winter, im glad I already found my winter wash w/o having to spend a fortune.

OLAY AGE DEFYING NIGHT CREAM
Now you may be thinking, why is she getting an aging night cream for wrinkles when she is only 24? I'll tell you why. Skin tends to be a lot dryer in winter and this type of a night cream has extra benefits to it that the others dont. It will help with your collagen, apperance of fine lines and wrinkles, and keep your skin very moisturized. The reason that we get wrinkles throught life is due to our genetics, but it is also due to our skin being dry. Collagen is lost as age gets higher and you need that plumpness in your skin to look youthful. Skin will become dry as age progesses and it will be harder to maintain that youthful glow. This type of a cream helps lock in the moisture and keep your skin hydrated from the inside out. I really like the feel of this on my face. When i wake up i dont wake up greasy, its just very fresh feeling. All you need is about a pea-dime size amount each night, you can also put it on your neck/chest if you would like, i would recommend it, but its totally up to you. I think i spent $6 on it and its 2.0 oz, this will last the entire winter season, no doubt in my mind. It does have a bit of a perfume-y smell to it, not bad, but definately noticable...definately youthful smelling. I really like this product, it has made my skin very soft since ive been using it for 2 weeks now, im not going to be using anything else as of right now.

Hey everyone I am gonna do 2 reviews today, one for MAC Pro longwear foundation (in my color NC15) and MAC Skin base visage prep and prime.

MAC SKIN BASE VISAGE PRIMER
Alrighty, i have been using Milk of Magesia and Chaffing gel as primers for the longest time and they both seem to do fine. I have combo skin, so sometimes its really hard to tell what i need that day. Lately with the weather being weird going from freezing to 85 I didnt feel like playing around, so I just went to MAC and got some primer. Now ive never used their primer before, mainly because I generally stay away from MAC face products (foundation, primer, concealer, etc.) It comes out very easily, it has an almost shimmer sparkle to it as well, at first i was like oh no, this sparkle on my oily skin is not gonna be good at all. But ive had my makeup on for 12 hours now and it is doing marveous! The primer wasnt greasy, slick, or sticky at all. It went on like a moisturizer and was very easy to work with. I think i payed around $22 for this, im definately going to get it again when it runs out. Good buy, me likey!

MAC PRO LONGWEAR FOUNDATION- NC15
Ok so the NC15 means nothing really, its just my shade, but i figured i'd add it so you can see how pale i really am haha. Ok so first off this is NOT the MAC foundation i used to use, i believe i used to use the Studio Fluid....uh uh bad foundation! I had gotten the Studio Fluid well over 3 years ago and i used it about a month after realizing my face was breaking out SO bad from it. I wasnt sure if it was stress, hormones, food, etc. It was definately the Studio Fluid. When i was talking to the MAC sales person he assured me this was a new product and it was re-done because everyone seemed to have that issue. He told me this was also a long staying foundation. I have a huge problem with oily skin on my Tzone, and my makeup looks like its melting off about 2-3 hours after i put it on. I have been using Revlon Colorstay for the longest time now. This foundation (MAC) is a buildable foundation starting at medium. I want full due to my hyperpigmentation, and it is definately a full coverage to say the least! I put my first layer on and was pretty surprised on how well it looked just with one layer. Next came the second layer and i didnt even have to conceal after i was done. It dried very quicky and stayed put. I think this with the primer are a great combo. Now with all foundations your gonna get that odd smell, this definately has that odd smell...almost like a paint can, i suppose your painting your face though, right? lol. I think i payed around hm...$26 for this? And I also got a free concealer out of it, now i havent used it yet because I honestly didnt need it today! The coverage I got from the foundation was perfect! It has gotten just a tad greasy through the day, but NOTHING like what im used to. I mean by 4pm i am ready to wash my face off and call it a day i feel so gross and greasy. Im gonna keep with this new foundation and see if i like it more and more. Im hoping it doesnt break me out like the other MAC foundation did. *Fingers crossed*

Fashion-makeup trend: Smokey eyes and red lips

So a trend ive seen on the runways is a smokey eye and bright red lips. Pretty bold! I cant hold a black smokey eye well because I have hooded eyes and it just makes them look smaller than they already are. So i mixed mine up a bit with grey and brown with some black do add dimension. Enjoy!

Hey everyone, so i promised I would make a review on the Biore blemish fighting ice cleanser, and the Cover Grl aqua smooth foundation, but im going to add Boots expert anti-blemish night moisturizer as well.

Biore:
This stuff works UH...MAY...ZING! I was telling you guys how last week my face was really broken out due to not washing my makeup off before I worked out, I was hardly drinking any water, etc. This was honestly the worst I have seen my skin since I hit puberty. That bad! I was just devistated too because I had so many shoots last week, and its embarassing when your the MUA and you have zits galore! Anywho, this stuff says on the bottle its supposed to work 68% better than proactiv..but that shouldnt be hard to do, i hate proactiv lol. I was really hesitant when i got this, but honestly its one of the best products ive used, by far. It was i think $5 (on sale) at Walmart. It has an odd smell to it, not bad, just different. It kinda reminds me of a hospital, but not so clean? Does that make sense? lol After about 3 days of using this stuff i started seeing results. And after a full week my acne is completely gone. I do have to admit though, i did use this in conjuction with arm and hammer tooth paste to dry out my zits (use sparingly!). But i am sold on this stuff!

Boots:
Ok let it be known that I love Boots from England. I got some around 6 years ago from an actual Boots store when I was in Wales and every product I got was amazing. So i was thrilled when Target started carrying it. Ive used their face washes, night serums, mositurizers, makeup, everything, and they all work great...and they're cheap cheap cheap! I got this for $4.99 at Target. I was at the point where I was getting sick of using Coconut Oil, so i got this stuff hoping for the best. This stuff is really great! You use about a pea size amount and put it all over your face in a circular motion before you go to sleep, but i even use it after i wash my face in the morning as well. Its a clear gel like material and goes on very nicely. It does feel a bit tight after it dries, im not sure if thats from the acids or from the fact that it just dried haha. I truly believe this stuff is working very well. I dont wake up feeling oily or greasy, its just very nice and moisturized. It has no oil and no fragrance which is great! I really think this is making my skin more clear, it definately doesnt feel like im clogging my pores after i put it on!

CoverGirl Aqua Smooth:
Ok so i have a love hate relationship with this product. I have bought it for years and years. I love it because it is the perfect foundation for me, its creamy but goes to a almost powder finish. Perfect for combination skin. And I hate it because it is gone in less than a month, and it tends to get expensive. The other downside is that they have VERY limited colors. Its generally geared towards lighter skin girls to medium skin. Unfortunately it has been this way for as long as I have been buying this product, which has been atleast 6 years now. This goes on so nice and smooth, it covers very well. It doesnt feel heavy, or cakey. It feels like a nice cool foundation on your face, almost wet in a way. I've been using this with milk of magesia as my primer and it lasts all day long, even in the hot summer days its been doing pretty good. I hightly recommend this product for lighter-medium skin girls. You can choose to set it with a powder if you want the more matte appearance, or you can just leave it by itself if you want that dewy, glowy look.

Hey everyone, well last weekend I was SUUUPER busy. I woke up at 4am for a shoot and was running around 3 cities all day. At my 3rd job I was supposed to do makeup for a model for a TFCD shoot. She was a no show (im never considering working with her again), so the photog wanted to still do photos. So I had to end up being the model, not my forte. At that point I was so tired, my makeup had been melting due to the ridiculous 100 degree weather, but she still managed to have the pics come out great! Primer for oily skin: Milk of Magnesia

Hey everyone, i wanted to give a quick update on a new fav product of mine. I have really oily skin in summer, and combo skin in winter. My current primer (chaffing gel) just isnt cutting it. So i decided to switch to something that i've been hearing a lot about, milk of magnesia. Now typically this is used as a laxative, not skin. BUT if you are looking to save hundreds of dollars (in comparrison to fl oz) this stuff is for you. Now mind you, you dont want to use this unless you have oily skin. It can be too drying for different skin types and may flake. I used this for the first time yesterday. Now usually I wait about 1-2 weeks to do a review on a new product so I can get used to it, see if there are any weird side effects, etc. But this stuff was so amazing right off the bat, i couldnt wait. It is in the tums area of your local stores. You will want to get the liquid form of it. I got the equate brand because it was around $5 less than the name brand stuff. So i payed about $4 for a ginormous bottle! I depoted a little bit in a makeup jar so it would be easier to carry for clients, travel with, etc.

How to apply it:
Use a cotton ball, or a makeup foundation brush and put about a dime size amount on face. Depending on how oily your skin is, or how large/small your face is, you can do less or more.

The end result: You need to let this dry on your skin, dont start applying product when its still tacky or your going to look tacky! Wait till its dry, it would have an almost chalk like appearance. Very matte, and very nice for oily skin!

I am going to have this stuff for a long time, more than likely until it expires. I am so happy that I got this, i HIGHLY recommend it for oily skin girls, even if you have combo skin, put it on your oily areas!

How to deal with a worst enemy: Acne!

Hey everyone, well unfortunately i have been breaking out pretty bad these past 2 weeks. I take full responsibility too, i have been super busy with photoshoots, drawings, etc. And every night I have been running outside with my makeup on cuz i just dont have a lot of time to wash it off before and everything. So my skin is definately hating me for it. I have a good 8 zits right now. And not just a little zit, i mean the kind that are under the skin, tender to the touch, i should just start naming them at this point lol. So I have a little remedy that helps take away the irritation and dries them up fast! I just switched yesterday to a new face wash, Biore blemish fighting ice cleanser. So if it works well i will do a review on it in a couple of weeks. I also switched my foundation as well. I will also do a review on my new foundation in a week. Hopefully these will also work, along with taking in more water, actually taking my vitamin thats up in the cubbord cleaning my face before working out, AND this little tip. Before I go to bed, after I wash my face, I apply Arm and Hammer toothpaste to my zit. The main ingredients are baking soda and peroxide, excellent for acne! It dries up the acne very quickly, and even if you have the under the skin zit that just wont seem to come to a head, this may even bring it to a head in the morning so you can pop it (properly!) and get on with life. I seriously havent broken out this bad since before I had children, its really embarassing considering at all of my jobs people expect me to look gorgeous and have top notch makeup. Yes its easy to cover acne with makeup, but you cant hide the actual bump on your skin. So anyways, i definately recommend the toothpaste remedy. It works, i have been doing it every night, and i will do it every night until my pesky friends go away!

Hey everyone, the other day at Walgreens I was searching out some new hair products because...well you dont wanna hear my whole story lol. Anywho, I saw they had a buy one get one free of the small Nexxus bottles, considering I didnt want to spend $20, this $5 was a great option! I got the Therappe shampoo and conditioner. Lately my hair has been suuuuuper dry because I have been going crazy dying it because im never satisfied. After one wash with this stuff my hair was silky, smooth, shiny, all around gorgeous. It has a coconut-like smell to it, its very creamy and easy to lather up and washes out very nicely as well. Im so glad i got this stuff. I give this 5/5 stars!

Hey everyone, so i have mentioned in a previous post that I was asked if i wanted to do a trade for services project and of course i said yes! So im getting my pictures taken in my wedding dress (that fits again, yay!) on Saturday. I didnt want to do the typical, oh im a pretty bride look at me sort of thing, so I decided to go dark. I am getting pictures done of myself on Saturday in my wedding dress (yay) its been 3 years since I wore it as of the 19th of this month, so I wanted to get some prof. pics done since i never had any for my actual wedding day. So ive been trying out different makeup looks for my shoot. I am an avid makeup lover so I am definately not doing the typical bride look. Im going for a high fashion, almost goth look. The look i did today, i didnt care much for it, so this really is just for fun. The first pic is the actual makeup I did, and the second is a heavily edited pic just for fun.

Hey everyone, I wanted to let you know that I now offer photography services along with my makeup services. I will be charging $20-25 for 30 min of pictures, (no travel charge) I will edit them, and give them to you either by online or by cd. If you want something else besides makeup pictures, I would be more than happy/willing to take other types of pics. For example family, children, babies, maternity, mystical-ish, you get the point. I didnt want to do the typical arabic type of makeup for this song, it seems like it would be very cliche. So i dug a little deeper and decided to go dark with a splash of color. This song has got that twing (not twang!) to it that makes you want to dance and you think of Bollywood. So I wanted to do a deep chocolate smokey eye with the splash of teal to show its seductive side. Its a great song and I love working out to it!

I chose this song because to me it expresses the movie in another light, perfectly. James Horner is my ALL time fav composer. He has done Titanic, Mighty Joe Young, A Beautiful Mind, so many more! But I chose to do a reddish chocolate smokey eye because this movie is so sad, hurtful, gut wrenching, beautiful, and emotional. I wanted to show as many emotions as I could in one look. So all of the colors represent a different feeling you get from this music. Hope you like it!

A lot of people say oh its so gross when women wear makeup to the gym what are they thinking....well im thinking uhm I feel naked without makeup, so therefore I dont care what you think, im wearing makeup! But there is a right way to do it. I mean, obviously some people go straight to the gym after they are off of work and dont feel like taking off their makeup or dont have time, so duh they're going to have a full face of makeup. But if your like me and have the option of less or none, this is a great look for "gym makeup". This look took me about 5 minutes, so really anyone has 5 minutes in their day. Products used:

Eyes:
Rimmel sexy curves mascara
Nyx white pearl loose shadow
Revlon colorstay liquid liner (just for a wing)

Lips:
Strawberry Milk Nyx lipstick
Sorbet lipgloss Nyx
(I would normally use chapstick, but I just got this lipstick and wanted to try it out)

Hey everyone, I chose to do this song from my Ipod because its a fun, upbeat, dancing kind of song that I LOVE. Not to mention JT is really hot haha. I chose to do a makeup style that to me says, mysterious girl in the dark, but I also wanted the "flashing lights" effect to play a part. So I chose to do a severe cat eye with tons of glitter and flashing rays of lights hitting from everywhere. Enjoy!

Hey everyone, so I chose a song by one of my favorite classical artists, Anne Dudley, the song is called Love So Alike. It is a song from the movie Tristan and Isolde. I LOOOOVE this movie, and music just as much! This song just sounds so romantic, sad, emotional, loving...everything. I chose to do a green-look because when i hear that song it reminds me of when I was in Devon, England and just seeing how green and beautiful everything was. Hope you like it!

I chose this as one of my anniversary songs. I LOVE Amy Lee's voice, its so haunting and mystical sounding, ah gives me chills! I love the lyrics to this song and the way it makes me feel. I will have two more anniversary songs after this. I chose to do a fairly simple eye with my hair all messed up because I know that even when I have very little makeup on and my hair is a mess, my husband takes me for me, reglardless if I try to be a "beauty queen" or if I dont feel like putting makeup on an doing my hair.

Hey everyone, i've decided that the next few weeks of inspirational looks will come from my ipod...say what? Yup thats right, when I was working out tonight I was thinking it would be so cool to do makeup of songs that I like/move me. Suave Shampoo: A surprising find

Hey everyone, so our mail man dropped off a certified letter saying they have our package....but we were both home and he didnt knock on the door to drop off our camera, aaagh! So I know they have it, and we'll have our camera on Monday, so until Monday you have to deal with Suave haha. Ok so i bought this shampoo from Suave the other day because I wanted to compared my high end shampoo's to this lower end one. I use Suave kids on my daughters hair and hers always comes out silky and shiny so i was hoping it would do the same for me, and boy did it! I lately have been using Nexxus, CHI, and Sally Hersberger Shampoo/Conditioners and they are all sort of the same. Nothing really fantastic, just...typical. When I used the Suave for the 1st wash I was expecting my hair to feel dry, brittle, fragile, and all around gross. But what amazing results it gave me, oh my gosh! First of all, the smell is great, its not too overpowering like some shampoos are. It was easy to lather up, and rinse out. It didnt feel like any residue was left after I was finished. My scalp wasn't itchy or anything either. I got this for under $2 and am quite surprised at how much i love it. It makes my hair silky smooth, its easy to manage, not tangling, i mean honestly its great! I think im going to try a different bottle of the Suave Profesional's when im done with this one. I give this 4/5 stars!

Nyx Lipsticks

Hey everyone, I had taken these pics before our camera died this past week, so i felt like now would be a good time to show you some NYX lipsticks that I got recently. When it comes to lip colors I generally stay in the "safe" range. I like the pale pink, nude, shimmery look. I have lips that dont necessarily look good with bold colors. So anyways I wanted to show you some colors they offer, none of these have lip liners, just the actual lipstick, so thats why some of them look like they are going out of my lip line. I got strawberry milk today, so when our camera arrives I will do a swatch on that as well.

Ok everyone, since our camera took a dump last night, im out a camera for a week or so. We ordered a new one today so I will be taking entries for the contest until the end of the month, i know its a long time but not everyone has the time to take pics, send them in, edit them, etc. So you have until the end of August to enter. Here are the rules and who they apply to:

Who the contest is for:
Anyone in the Panhandle, FL area or anyone in the Central FL area...or even if you live out of state but WILL BE HOME for Thanksgiving or Christmas and you live in these two areas, you may enter.

What you need to enter:
An influenced makeup picture of yourself. It could be your cat, the earth, a celebrity, a classic makeup look you like...anything that inspires you. You must send me a picture of you with your makeup on, and what gave you the inspiration. They dont have to be collaged together, you can send seperate pics, or if you dont have a picture of what your infuenced by (like a dream, or something) just send me a description.

How I will judge the entries:
Once I get pictures I will be posting them as I get them, so that way it is fair to each person so they know i've gotten them. Its not going to be a contest based on friendship, family status, or anything like that. It will be ONLY on your makeup. You can be as simple as you want or as crazy as you want.

The prize:
You will get to choose between two things, a full face of makeup or a just eye application from me at your choice of time. Now there is one teeny tiny thing here that applies towards the Central FL people. I will be down there for Thanksgiving & Christmas & April 2011, so if someone from that area wins, you will have to choose what you'd like around those times.

Hey everyone, i wanted to let you all know that last night when i was outside running, my husband wasn't watching our daughter and she dropped our camera into a glass of water. Oh i love how I can always count on him :\ Anywho, i have no idea when the camera will get fixed...or even if its fixable. So yah, i'll be posting fashion ideas, beauty ideas, reviews, etc. for now. Im pretty bummed, but hopefully it wont be too long until I can post what I love the most, makeup.
